What is Stance Analysis for Pets?
Understanding your pet’s weight distribution and comfort levels.
At CHVC, we use the Stance Analyzer for dogs, cats, and ferrets in Prince George, BC to measure how they distribute their weight and find the cause of issues impacting their ability to stand and walk.
The stance analyzer allows us to measure how your pet distributes their wait to detect key data points that, together, tell us whether your pet is experiencing pain judging by how they shift their weight.
Why We Use Stance Analysis
Your pets can’t tell you they’re in pain, and often, pain in animals can be nearly undetectable because they’ll camouflage it.
We’ll use the stance analyzer as an early detector for pain that could become lameness as well as to monitor the success of rehabilitation treatment, and to track the progress of orthopedic conditions.

What to Expect from Stance Analysis
A quick overview of the process.
When we do a stance analysis, we’ll have your pet stand on a special mat that will analyze the amount of weight placed on each leg at any given time compared to the standard numbers. This may be a one-off for diagnosis or a series of tests performed before and after treatments to judge their success in reducing your pet’s pain over time.
